What type of scars can be treated?

The Pulsed Dye Laser is particularly effective for raised, thickened scars. The fresher or younger the scar, the better the chance of success. Most scars with a pink color left in, may well respond. Examples of scars that can be treated after surgery are: thyroid, breast, chest, abdomen, bikini line, and more. Raised acne scars are also candidates for the Pulsed Dye Laser.  

How does the laser reduce or prevent scars?
The Pulsed Dye Laser not only eliminates the small blood vessels that give scars their color, but this laser also helps the collagen and elastin fibers in the lower part of the skin to regenerate and re-orientate. As a result the scar will generally flatten out, smooth out, lighten in color, produce less itching, and improve in texture.
